Message from Tuhon Christopher Castaneda Sayoc, Sr.

The Sayoc family and I would like to thank you for supporting the living Filipino warrior art of Sayoc Kali. Our freedom is a gift of priceless value preserved by the fighting spirit of our elders. The unthwarted, relentless and the loyal, whose courage was forged by savage weapons as the blood of their fallen enemies coarse through our history. With this great responsibility, our Sayoc Kali Instructors are sworn to produce only the best representatives of the Art of the Blade. SAYOC KALI is not the past, but the future. Special Thanks to all these people listed below, although their names are not listed here, their support is very important, and appreciated by me. These people are responsible for helping Sayoc Kali stay strong. Without them Sayoc Kali would not be growing the way it is today.

Titles and Rank

Having a title and rank is extremely important in Sayoc Kali. This is how we determine our chain of command and protocol. Titles and Rank are attained by perseverance, loyalty, and skill level. Perseverance and loyalty are the values that make the Sayoc ranking strong. When it comes to skill intensity, practitioners go through the academic learning process step by step, practitioners are inundated with the required material for each level that gives them the opportunity to develop themselves to the most mature levels of comprehension. The possessors of titles and ranks in Sayoc Kali are the supporters and advisory council to the Sayoc Board of Directors. The advisory council is composed of Levels 1 through 9 - Full Instructors. The Board of Directors is composed of Level 7- Full Instructors and up and by appointment. All titles and ranks have essential roles in Sayoc Kali. To qualify for title and rank status, you will need a Certified and Licensed Sayoc Instructor. Instructor Certificates

Any person that possess a Sayoc Instructors Certificate is of the highest caliber practitioner will always be honored by the Sayoc Family. These instructors have been trained and certified by me in the past under the Sayoc Fighting System. They have earned the rights and privileges of their ranks. Instructor certificate possessors may or may not be involved with the current organizational efforts and may or may not be familiar with any of the current "ALL BLADE - ALL THE TIME" material in Sayoc Kali. These certificates were issued from 1972 to 1999. As you know, Sayoc Kali is growing with new course material and programs constantly being released. The present Instructor Certificates are issued with a teaching license that is renewed annually to maintain the highest quality instruction. Instructors that possess a current teaching license are up to date in their training and Sayoc Kali-Silak Training Association activities.

License to Teach

A teaching license is valid for 1 year and must be renewed annually; we will only recommend Instructors that have a current teaching license. These licensed practitioners are the Instructors who continue to be active with me and are learning the most current material. These Instructors strongly support my teachings and are core of the Sayoc Kali-Silak Training Association. I will show only those instructors names on this website. If you are interested in learning Sayoc Kali and would like to become a Certified and Licensed Instructor, you must receive a recommendation from a licensed instructor.
